3 things that will keep you motivated when you're ready to give up

How to stay inspired, focused and aligned with your goals — even on hard days

Phewww... whether you're building your own business, navigating a career shift, trying to stay consistent at work, or working toward financial stability, motivation can feel like a rare resource. One day you’re pumped with ideas and energy, and the next, you just want to quit everything and start over (or crawl back into bed).

Motivation is one of the most common struggles I see in my clients. And it's completely normal. You're human. Especially when money, success or purpose feel uncertain, it's easy to lose sight of why you started. But here’s the thing: motivation doesn’t have to vanish forever. You can reawaken it with the right approach.

As I always say, you're the creator of your life — including your level of motivation. While you can’t control every external factor, you can change your internal state. That’s why I put together this practical guide to help you stay motivated and keep moving forward, especially when your business, career or income is at stake.

1. Reconnect with your “why”

This is the most important step. If your actions aren’t rooted in a deeper reason, your motivation won’t last.

If you’re an entrepreneur, your “why” might be tied to creating freedom, making an impact, or building something meaningful. If you’re in a job, maybe your why is financial security, personal growth, or creating a path toward something more fulfilling. In either case, reconnecting with your purpose keeps you anchored.

Without this emotional fuel, it's easy to fall into routines that feel pointless. You lose momentum, dread your tasks, and wonder what the point is. That’s when burnout sneaks in.

  • Tip: Write down your "why" and place it where you can see it daily. Ask yourself: What will shift in my life when I follow through? What am I building?

  • Visual tools like a vision board or goal-focused screensaver can help bring it to life.

If you don’t feel connected to your goals anymore, that’s a signal to pause and reflect. Maybe the goal isn’t aligned with your values. Or maybe you're carrying someone else’s expectations. In life & wellness coaching, I help you uncover the goals that actually energise you — not drain you.

2. Choose it — every day

Once you’re clear on your why, the next step is commitment. Not a one-time decision, but a daily one.

Motivation isn't about waiting to "feel like it." It's about showing up because your vision matters. Even when it's hard. Even when you're tired. Even when it feels slow.

As a business owner, this could mean:

  • Posting content when no one's watching

  • Showing up for your offer even after hearing no

  • Creating long-term assets instead of chasing quick wins

In a traditional job, it could look like:

  • Setting a healthy boundary with your boss

  • Improving your skillset to open new doors

  • Speaking up about what’s not working

💡 Daily mindset check-in: What am I choosing today? Am I choosing growth or comfort? Alignment or autopilot?

Rituals help. Light a candle while you journal. Do a short morning walk before opening emails. Tiny habits can anchor your bigger choices. The more you consciously choose your path, the more natural it becomes.

And if you find yourself constantly choosing the easier path or sabotaging your progress, don’t beat yourself up — get curious. Often, hidden emotional blocks or unconscious beliefs are running the show. That’s where deeper support, like biodecoding sessions or personalised Bach Flower blends, can gently uncover and shift those patterns.

3. Don’t go it alone: find support and accountability

This is especially crucial if you're working solo or building something from scratch. Motivation fades when we feel isolated.

Having someone to reflect back your vision, remind you of your progress, or challenge your limiting beliefs can make all the difference. Whether it's a business buddy, a friend who checks in, or a professional coach — connection multiplies commitment.

  • A friend might help you brainstorm, vent or laugh through a rough day

  • A coach will help you see blind spots and support you emotionally and strategically

Clients often tell me that just one session helped them get their momentum back. It’s not just about external accountability. It’s about emotional clarity, too. Knowing you’re not crazy, lazy or behind — you’re just human, and maybe overwhelmed.

Bonus tips to boost your motivation naturally

Here are a few extra practices that complement the 3 main pillars above:

  • Fuel your body and brain: Eating well doesn’t just help with physical energy — it affects your emotional and creative energy too. A varied diet can inspire a more varied, vibrant life. If you struggle with stress or low energy, my book Master Stress goes deep into holistic strategies to feel better from the inside out.

  • Try Bach Flowers: These natural remedies work subtly but powerfully on the emotional level. If your motivation is being blocked by fear of failure, low self-worth, overwhelm or procrastination, I can help you create a custom blend to support your energy flow.

  • Embrace rest and reset: Lack of motivation is often a sign you’re running on empty. Taking time to reset your nervous system, sleep better, or reconnect with your body through mindfulness or somatic tools can bring your spark back faster than you expect.

  • Subliminals for motivation: For deep mindset shifts that don’t rely on willpower alone. Great for long-term reprogramming while you work or relax.

Final thoughts: motivation is a choice, not a feeling

Motivation is not magic. It's a mix of alignment, commitment, and support. When you reconnect with your why, choose your path daily, and allow others to walk with you, things begin to shift.

If you're feeling drained, uninspired, or unsure of your next step, you're not failing. You're at a crossroads — and that’s exactly where change begins.
